GOP Sen. Thom Tillis privately tore into Trump in texts obtained by Politico: “If you had ever threatened me directly with a primary, I would have immediately told you to f*ck yourself... Save those threats and head games for cowards and fools.” And in another: “I don’t take this bullsht from anyone, including you Mr. President. Save that sht for the cowards who don’t care if you fail. I care if you fail and right now we are failing.” 👉

What AOC did here is despicable and pathetic even for her. it's a joke to think you posture as some sort of a national leader while you go around definitively, publicly proclaiming individuals guilty of horrific crimes before they've ever been charged with, let alone convicted of, those crimes, especially when most evidence is unknown and, of what is known, there's so much evidence casting doubt on the accusations. AOC never heard of these 7 Cornell students until like 6 seconds ago, but now definitively decree they're ALL "gang rapists." But worse is that AOC lies here repeatedly, making claims that even the alleged victim denies. Nobody "lured her" into the frat house. She went there voluntarily and showed up drunk. She voluntarily used drugs and had sex with at least the first three men if not all. She wrote one of those students an email afterward saying how nothing they did was criminal and how much fun she had having sex with the two of them and hoped to do it again. She then asked for an invitation to another party at this same frat house 8 days later, and became enraged for the first time when the frat president said it was best if she didn't come. Nobody in the group chat said she was "incapacitated" as AOC alleged. None of this means that there was no rape. It means that minimally responsible, ethical people refrain from pronouncing guilt (or innocence) until they know what they're fucking talking about and there are at least charges filed. None of that applies to AOC.

Republican lawmakers are putting Planned Parenthood's federal funding under the microscope. A coalition of 128 House and Senate Republicans is asking the HHS Inspector General to conduct a broad review of taxpayer dollars going to Planned Parenthood and its affiliates and, if appropriate, open an investigation. If federal officials uncover misconduct, the lawmakers want them to consider measures ranging from administrative action and suspension to exclusion from federal healthcare programs or referrals to other authorities. The request comes while the SBA separately reviews whether 38 Planned Parenthood affiliates were eligible for more than $88 million in COVID-era PPP loans. That review itself is not a finding that the affiliates broke the law. There's more in the lawmakers' request than the PPP money. Read what else they want examined

With just a month left before daylight saving time ends, Americans remain in limbo as the Senate weighs ending the twice-yearly clock change. The Senate returned from a five-week recess on Sept. 14 with no vote scheduled on the Sunshine Protection Act that would make daylight saving time permanent. Another recess, meanwhile, is set to begin Oct. 5 and end Nov. 6. Barring congressional action, Americans should still plan to turn their clocks back Nov. 1. While the House has already approved the bill and President Donald Trump is pushing senators to approve it, the legislation's future remains uncertain. 📸:Getty Images 🎨: Alan Nguyen Read more

Twenty months ago, Republicans won control of Washington on a promise to bring down costs, make government more efficient, and end senseless wars. But over the past two years, Republicans betrayed the American people on every single one of those promises. The Trump administration – empowered by his feckless Republican majorities in Congress – has been a catastrophe for working families everywhere.
