DividedView is a free beta that analyzes public posts on X. You do not need an account to use it. This page describes what the site collects and why.

What you give us

• Subjects you search for. When you type a subject or request a report, we store the subject and the report settings you chose, so the report can be built and shown to anyone who looks it up. To check and describe the subject, the text you typed is sent to an AI model provided by Google (Gemini).
• Email. If you email us at support@dividedview.com, we keep that correspondence to reply to you.

What we collect automatically

• IP address, briefly. To stop one visitor from starting too many reports, the report server counts recent requests per IP address. That count is held in memory for about ten minutes and is not saved to our database.
• Hosting logs. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as request times and addresses, for operating and securing the service.
• Browser storage. Report pages remember your scroll position, and the homepage remembers that its chart animation has already played, in your browser's session storage. It stays in your browser and is cleared when you close the tab. We use no cookies, no analytics, and no advertising trackers.
• Fonts. Pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google's servers when a page opens.

Public posts on X

Reports are built from public X posts: their text, the public account names and profile pictures that posted them, and their public engagement counts. We collect them through a third-party X data service and analyze them with AI models, including to translate posts and to group them into narratives. We do not collect private posts or messages. If a post of yours appears in a report and you would like it removed, email us.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information, show advertising, or build profiles of visitors.

Keeping and removing data

Reports, and the posts they are built from, are kept so reports can be viewed and updated. To ask for something to be removed, or for any privacy question, email support@dividedview.com.
